INSURANCE AND FEE SCHEDULE
At this time, Maui Skin Clinic is not yet contracted with any insurance companies. Please check back for updates.
WHAT IS DIRECT CARE?
Direct care/direct pay is a model of healthcare in which patients pay their physician directly for their medical care. The physician does not bill the insurance company. This model enables physicians to provide care without restrictions placed by insurance companies and re-establishes the patient-physician relationship. This model also allows physicians to set reasonable, predictable and transparent prices, while providing higher quality care.
Since we do not participate with health insurance, we are able to keep our overhead low and pass that savings directly to our patients. This model eliminates much of the administrative burden and allows your doctor to focus on you and your visit.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DIRECT CARE?
There are no referrals needed, no surprise fees, no prior authorizations for procedures, no co-pays, no bills or collections sent to you after your visit.
Our appointments run on time and you will be seen without feeling rushed.
We offer same-day and same-week appointments.
This is NOT a concierge practice and there is NO membership fee to be seen.
All patients are welcome.
WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE?
Dr. Brewer is classified as an “out-of-network” physician with your insurance company. Most PPO insurance companies will reimburse you for a portion of your claim to an “out of network” physician. While we do require full payment at the time of service, we will provide a statement that you can mail directly to your insurance company for reimbursement upon request. Most insurance companies will send you a check within 2-3 weeks if your visit is covered. Maui Skin Clinic cannot guarantee that your visit or procedure will be covered.
Patients with Kaiser insurance or government sponsored insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid, or VA/Tricare are unable to be reimbursed. Some Medicare Advantage PPO plans allow reimbursement for out of network physicians.
You may choose to use your insurance for labs, pathology, prescriptions, or additional testing as allowable by your insurance.
